We'll be
looking at the 4 main virtues from the Bhagavad Gita this week and then we'll take it from there. These four virtues have distinct aspects. 1) Fearlessness (see below) may be synonymous with bravery, courage, a stout heart, Ok but these don’t say
what the quality of “fearlessness” really is. So let's take it as the absence of the
impression of “impending danger”. Therefore we have a quality that is an absence of
something negative. 2) Purity,
cleanliness, pulchritude… again, OK, but this is the absence of something
unwanted or negative. 3) Perseverance. This is positive, because standing
firm and persevering is an action involving effort, a gift that can only be the force or power to withstand and continue, so this is
a positive acceptance of something. 4) Charity. This
really is an aspect of love of kind, because loves gives, whereas separation and hatred can only take. So this is a positive influx of loving energy that enables one to give. More soon...
