A student of the Shivapuri Baba said he talked
of enlightenment as though it were easier that it is normally made out to be.
The Babaji answered: “But it is easier than it is normally made out to
be. Do you imagine that Jesus, the Buddha and Mohammed and others would have
asked us to follow commandments which only they could follow? Don’t you
see that it is profitable for certain people to make it seem more difficult
than it is? It is possible to find enlightenment in the rest of your lifetime.
Never mind yesterday, let yesterday be forgotten. Begin today. Now. That is the
only way.”
